True‑Crime Author Bob Cyphers coming to Moweaqua Public Library May 11

MOWEAQUA, IL — The Moweaqua Public Library District is set to host an evening of true‑crime investigation and Midwest history as award‑winning journalist and author Bob Cyphers visits the library on May 11 at 6 PM to discuss his latest work on the infamous I‑70 serial killer case.

Cyphers, known for his deep‑dive reporting and collaboration with law enforcement agencies across the region, will present new insights from his book Dead End: Inside the Hunt for the Interstate 70 Serial Killer. The case — which has remained unsolved for more than three decades — spans multiple states and continues to haunt investigators and families of the victims.

During the program, Cyphers will walk attendees through the timeline of the murders, the original composite sketch of the suspect, and the renewed push for answers as new evidence and investigative techniques emerge. His work has been credited with helping keep the case active and in the public eye, ensuring that leads continue to surface.

In addition to discussing the I‑70 case, Cyphers will also highlight stories from his other book, 25 Frozen, 1 Thawed: Murder and Mayhem in the Midwest, which chronicles chilling and lesser‑known crimes from across the region.

As part of the event, the library will hold a raffle for two signed copies of each book, giving attendees a chance to take home a piece of Cyphers’ investigative legacy.

The program is free and open to the public. Seating is first‑come, first‑served.
