Moweaqua in Motion Brings Color to the Skies with Upcoming Kite Day

Kite Day at Moweaqua North Park April 25th

MOWEAQUA, Ill. — The community group Moweaqua in Motion is inviting residents to lift their spirits — and their kites — at Kite Day, a free family event set for Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at North Park in Moweaqua.

The event promises a morning full of creativity and outdoor fun. Participants of all ages can bring their own kites or purchase one on-site. In addition to kite flying, the festivities will include kite coloring, sidewalk chalk art, and bubbles, creating a lively atmosphere for children and adults alike.

Organizers say Kite Day is designed to celebrate community connection and the joy of simple outdoor play. “It’s a chance for everyone to come together, enjoy the fresh spring air, and see the sky filled with color,” said Sara Marley for Moweaqua in Motion.

With no admission fee, families are encouraged to unplug, bring their imagination, and join in the fun. Whether you’re an experienced kite flyer or just looking for a cheerful way to spend the morning, North Park will be the place to be.
